Helena was born into a family where everyone, and I mean everyone, loved babies. She was never, ever put down. She was loved unconditionally by every single person in her family. Uncle Mikey and Uncle Frankie - Frank wasn't her uncle by blood, just Gerard's good friend - , were the two people who were like Helena's second fathers. Yes, they were gay. And no, Helena didn't care. She loved them because they were her uncle, and the fact they were gay didn't change anything.
Helena's family had a secret, a huge secret that went outside of her uncle's being gay. They were vampires. Gerard and Mikey were full vampires, and they married humans, who they turned into vampires. Lindsey was pregnant with Gerard's baby, so Helena was a half-vampire. She slept and ate food, but drank blood and was strong and powerful just like her mommy and daddy. She ages as well, but has stopped growing. She will remain in the body of a 16 year old forever. Her whole life she was kept to herself, but when a boy at her school found out, she bit him and changed her into a vampire as well. So, the Way family adopted the little 14 year old boy into her family.
