{Wonderland.. What's that?}

Angel had been walking through the woods, following a strange feeling she had gotten in her gut. She peered around a corner and there was nothing there, empty darkness. She felt like she was falling, falling down and wasn't stopping until thud. She hit the ground, the wind was knocked out of her, and she passed out.

Karou Takuya Hitashi was skating through the woods when he heard a loud thud off in the distance. He skated towards the noise completely engulfed by his own curiousity. He found a girl that had fallen through that damned rabbit hole. She was unconscious, or so he guessed since she was only moving when she breathed. "Damn rabbit." He muttered to himself as he picked the girl up into his arms. He figured he'd bring her back home with him, so at least she wouldn't be laying there at night when she woke up.

"Stupid rabbit, I should shoot him." Karou muttered quietly to himself as he skated back through the forest and to his home. When he got there he kicked open the door. "Hey, Hatter, I'm home. And I borught home a girl." Karou yelled to his father, who was probably in the sewing room. "A GIIIIIIRLL!?" He heard the Hatter yell in surprise from the other room. "Well, its about time!" The Mad Hatter continued as he walked out into the living room where Karou was standing, holding the unconscious girl in his arms. "Why in the world would you knock out such a sweet looking girl?" He asked Karou. "What?! Why would I do this. It's that damned white rabbit's fault. She fell down that damn hole of his and, I guess, hit her head pretty hard when she landed." Karou stood up for himself while he placed the girl on the couch. "I'll tell him about it when he comes over for tea later." The Hatter told Karou. "Good, he should close up the damned thing. I mean we don't want this happening all the time."

Angel felt like she was getting picked up, but with as sore as her head was she wasn't sure bout anything. Light was causing her eyes to hurt so she just kept them closed. She thought she heard the voice of a guy, which made her keep her eyes closed even tighter.

She heard more talking, this time there were two voices. She could tell it was two guys, and she could tell they were talking bout her and a rabit. 'A rabit?' she thought. 'I must have fallen down a rabit hole.. but how am I here.. wherever this is?' She dared to open her eyes and saw a tall, dark looking man standing by her. She sat up and looked around. "Where.. Where am I?" she asked.

Karou was arguing with the Hatter about later, when that dumbass rabbit was supposed to come over for tea. Great. Karou hoped that stupidity wasn't contagious, becoz he would definitely catch it from the white rabbit. Did he really have to come to their house and drink their tea? Really, Hatter? Really? Karou noticed the girl on the couch beginning to stir. He watched her as she sat straight up. She looked to be in pure confusion when she asked the simple question. Where was she? "Well, you, darling, fell down a rabbit hole and into this place. Now this place is unlike any other. You've fallen into the madness of Wonderland." Karou heard himself say almost smart ass-ish-ly. Where else would you be if you fell down a rabbit hole? Oh dear, he'd been around the Hatter for too long it would seem.

'Wonderland? What in the world is wonderland?' Angel thought to herself. 'Why am I asking myself? Just ask the strange boy standing there infront of you.' She looked at him, and found she couldn't help but stare at him. He was actually.. cute she thought. 'No shut up, you just met the boy and you don't even know his name. Jeez your not okay girl.' She finally spook up. "Wonderland? What is Wonderland? And who are you guys?"

Karou noted that she was probably thinking to herself about the given situation. He was, or so he'd thought, eternally confused when he got to Wonderland at first. It was definitely a strange place if you didn't know any better. This is all he could really remember other than the ending of his world and his twin brother Hikaru. She seemed lost in thought before she actually asked her questions aloud. The Hatter didn't seem like he was going to answer her. He noticed that she was also staring at him. Why.....? Surely she'd seen someone that looked like a jester before. Well, he looked more like a twisted soul of a jester rather than one.

Back to the topic at hand however. "Well, Wonderland is basically a place where your wildest dreams run rampant. You will see creatures here that you'd never have imagined or ones that you have. This is the Mad Hatter, the March Hare is somewhere around here, and I'm Karou. I've lived here for five years or so." He answered quickly and with more detail than he had originally planned. What was so interesting about his girl that he found her so intriguing. Intriguing enough to actually care about bringing her here and answering her questions in depth. He was probably finally going mad. That wouldn't surprise him considering that the Hatter took him in when he first got here.

'My wildest dreams run rampant?' Angel thought to herself. She kinda smiled for she liked some of the things that she used to dream about, and then she kind of went blank for then she also remembered some of the demons that used to haunt her dreams. She tried not to show her worry for she had more nightmares of demons, then of good dreams about imaginary characters. 'I doubt that anything like that would wonder into such a place called Wonderland. It sounds happy' she giggled in her head. 'And then there's Karou, he looks pretty strong, kind of good looking, I'm sure if it came down to it he'd be able to protect me. But why would he? He just met me.'

She looked at Karou again and figured he was waiting for her to respond instead of think and ponder inside her own head. So she decided to ask the thoughts that were on her mind. "Well when you see 'dreams' can it be good and bad dreams? Oh and my name is Angel, thanks for ya know not leaving me knocked out back there." She smiled and found herself fiddling with her hair. She had a tendency of doing that when she got nervous or shy. She let go of her hair and tried to sit there as calm as normal, though her mind was racing and wanting to know so much. 'As always you can't stop having the curiousity of like.. a four year old'

Karou thought that Angel was a pretty name and that she had a good question. Were there the monsters from your bad dreams and the creatures from the good ones. Yeah there were nightmare-ish monsters here and imaginary creatures as well. You can't really have one without the other and maintain a balance at the same time. He was trying to figure out how to break it to her, becoz she seemed awefully worried about it.

He decided on breaking it to her in the logical manner. "Well, yes there are monsters from nightmares as well as the creatures from your good dreams. They both reside here and maintain a pretty sturdy level of peace. You have to have one, as well as the other, to maintain a balance." Karou told her in a very matter-of-fact voice. The monsters didn't really bother humanoids, unless it was a humanoid one. They usually weren't.

Angel hoped that her worst nightmares wouldn't show up. Her dreams could be pretty darn disturbing when it came to creatures. Demons were her least favorite. "Well.. it's mainly a good place though by the sounds of it right?" she asked curiously. She wanted to know more, but what exactly she couldn't tell.

She then looked at Karou and came up with a bright idea. "Well instead of me being an investigator," she giggled at that one, "Why don't after our little tea party with the rabbit you take me on a small tour of Wonderland, or at least tell me a little more. 'Perfect way to learn more, and to get to know Karou better' she told herself as she tried to hide her excitement.

Karou thought that Angel had a great idea. She had one little detail, not completely ironed out well. Wonderland was huge, there was no such thing as a little tour. There was the tea table where they three of them and the rabbit would be going to, to have tea. There was the White Queen's caslte, her sister, the Red Queen's castle. Thanks to the Red Queen, Wonderland was in a shitty condition lately. She let that damned Jabberwocky run rampant when he wouldn't go in his cage. Just right there they'd had alot of fatalities in the past year and a half. That 'queen' wouldn't know how to run a kingdom if the knowledge came up and bit her on her big ass head.

However, he wouldn't mind taking her on a tour...without the Hatter. Karou would like to feel like he knew more about Wonderland than someone else for once. It'd make him feel intelligent. He'd take her on a tour, he hadn't walked to the two castles in a long while. He'd gotten grounded for taking the White Queen's daughter out for a walk in the woods. The Hatter thought that he molested her, thanks for that. "That makes me feel great about myself." He'd thought back then. Anyways. "Sure, after tea time with the White Rabbit, I'll take you on a tour of Wonderland. One thing though. A small tour of Wonderland doesn't exist." Karou agreed to take her and smiled at her. Whoa, what? Did he just flirt? Damn teenage guy hormones. *glares at self mentally*

'Not a small tour?' she thought to herself. 'This place couldn't be that large. I fell down a damn rabbit hole just to get here after all.' She laughed in her head at that one. 'Well maybe thats a good thing, the larger the tour the more time with Karou. And just the better I get to know him, that's all.' she tried to tell herself.

Just then she noticed his smile at her. 'Wait, was that just a smile? Flirting or just a smile to himself that escaped to his lips? I'm sure it was nothing, I'm just thinking it was something. Why though? Did I want that smile to be for me?' She continued arguing with herself until she finally said something. "Well no mater the size of the tour, I think it would be fun. To get to see the land better and learn just what this Wonderland is exactly." she said trying to sound smart as she smiled brightly.

Karou noticed as this girl sat on their couch, she seemed to be mentally arguing with herself. About what? Who knew? Well, she did for one. That doesn't very well count though. He noticed that he argued with himself quite a bit. Oh well, he'd also been in Wonderland for about five years. He was bound to be a little bit mad by now. Again, oh well. La dee freekin dah. What else was new? Nothing. Well, a girl fell down that damned rabbit hole, but nothing other than that.

He realized that he was probably still smiling. As you all can tell, Karou doesn't like to show his emotions very much on the outside. He goes for a twisted, tortured jester sort of look. Unless the smile was demented, it didn't really go with how he usually acted. Happy was definitely a switch up for him. He was just glad that there was another teenager...human teenager...in Wonderland now. So he wasn't going to be so lonely, and maybe not so tortured. Anyways, back to the matter at hand. He had a lovely young lady to take on a tour. "Okay, well then, I guess we'll be off." Karou informed the Hatter while he walked over and helped Angel up off of the couch. He took her by the hand and led her outside. "So where would you like to go first? The White Queen's castle, the tea table, or the lake out in the old forest ruins?" He asked Angel.

Angel was still sitting there thinking in her head like she always did. 'I feel a little foolish' she thought to herself. 'I'm sure they think I'm just absolutely crazy with as much as I sit there quietly. Though I'm not quiet at all, I'm in my head thinking and yelling to and with myself.' Her thought just kept rambling until she looked up at Karou and noticed he was still smiling. She liked his smile a lot. 'He may be trying to pull off the crooked, and amazing, jester but when he smiles..' she found herself smiling back at him.

Then when he came over to help her up, she smiled some more and thanked him for the help up. As he grabbed her hand her face lit up red. 'Oh great now I'm blushing?' she half yelled at herself. As Karou asked her where she wanted to do it didn't take much to think about that one. "I want to go to the lake, out in the forest" she said confidently.. 'I like the forest, I always have but it seems like an alone place. Maybe I'll be able to talk to Karou, alone, and get to know him more.' She looked down at him holding her hand and blushed even more.

Karou noticed that, as they were walking, that Angel's face flushed a bright shade of red. Was it becoz he took her by the hand? He didn't even think of that gesture like that, in this context anyways. It was just a come-on-let's-go sort of gesture. It wasn't like he was flirting. At least not purposefully. He wondered what she was thinking half the time, becoz she seemed to think alot. Then again, who doesn't? He liked to just do stuff without thinking most of the time. It made things more interesting.

The lake was her answer on the first-stop-on-the-tour question. Cool, with him. He liked it out there, it was nice and quiet. The perfect place to sketch, or at least try to anyways. "To the lake then." He pointed off in the general direction of the lake. If only it were that easy to get there. HA, a place in Wonderland that didn't have some maze-like path to get to it? Yeah. Right. Never going to happen. He didn't mind though and she probably wouldn't either. He started to walk down the twisted path through the woods, leading Angel by the hand, as an attempt to make sure she didn't get lost. What with the damn Red Queen letting that Jabberwocky out lately. That'd be bad. The Jabberwocky didn't react well when he, himself, got to Wonderland. Its like it just knows when something is amiss.

Angel looked down as they walked and noticed he still had a hold of her. This time though, being that they were in what looked like a maze, she knew he wasn't actually holding her hand. Her face finally went to her normal color and she seemed to relax some, but didn't show her disappointment. Oh who was she thinking, thinking that a guy like Karou would like her. She figured there were plenty of pretty girls here, and she was just a strange girl that did nothing but think and argue in her own head. 'Your a crazy fool, quit trying to get your hopes up.' she yelled at herself.

Angel then started looking around as they walked through the woods. She noticed that the woods seemed like a giant maze. 'Jeez it's like this place goes on for ever and ever.' But she actually started to pay attention to the scenery and she thought the woods seemed to have a dark allure to them. Normally she loved darkness, but this seemed like an evil darkness, like everywhere you went you were being watched. She had a bad feeling about that thought.
