He was found near one of the holiday doors in the Hinterlands of Halloween Town when he was around twelve years old. He was taken in by an odd looking couple. The man, a tall skeletal figure. The woman, what looked to be a ragdoll. Their names were Jack and Sally. They asked Hikaru where he was from and what life was like where he was from. He was unable to answer, for he couldn't remember anything other than his world being engulfed in darkness before he woke up in the arms a very worried looking ragdoll. Ever since that fateful day he has been embracing the lifestyle of Halloween Town. Which seemed fitting, for the clothes he had shown up in were very on the edge of being emo/scene. he enjoyed the teachings Jack would give him on scaring the daylights out of nearly anyone or anything. But he has grown tired of the constant fright of Halloween Town and wishes that something out of the ordinary would just fall from the sky and into his life.

He's working on flying lessons with the vampires in town. Blood-sucking though, not really up his alley. He has mastered the guitar and drums and the fine art of screamo. Without hurting his vocal chords. He write poetry and loves to draw. He likes taking long, nearly endless walks though the Hinterlands. He has many a tattoo and has his ears guaged to a twelve, a single lip ring on the right side of his lip, and has an industrial to his name. He smokes daily, but has never drank, and has smoked a substance similar to weed. He keeps it very secretive from, his oh you could call him adoptive father, Jack. If Jack, The Pumpkin King, were to find out he didn't even want to know what the reaction from him or Sally would be.
