Kikiyo Sakura Yoshida walked into school the first day of the new nine weeks. She had heard rumors that the Prince's cousin would be attending the school starting at the beginning of the new nine weeks. She wondered if Yuki's cousin would be as cute, or dare she think it, cuter than him. She also hoped that it would bring some more excitement to this boring place. She isn't saying that hanging out with Saki, Arisa, and Tohru wasn't fun, but it did get old rather quickly. She hoped that Yuki's cousin would have that same weird vibe that Saki was always talking about. Her and those strange electro-poisonwaves.
She just now realized that maybe Yuki's cousin was a girl. She hoped not, becoz then she didnt even want a chance at dating one of the Sohma's. However, if it was a guy that was coming to their humbe little school, she wanted the absolute best chance she could have at him. Everyone knew that all Sohma's were attractive. However, she definitely refused to be all giddy around him like the rest of the girls would be. There was a special name for girls like that and that was: fangirl. (Gag and stabs self in face, mentally of course why would you do that in real like Ouch* She couldn't stand fangirls, the gave girls like herself a bad name and made the rest of us look like a bunch of flocking sheep. Yeah, no thank you.

Kyo Sohma was being driven to his first day at this new school his cousin had tricked him into going to. Shigure didn't believe that he would actually go to school unless he dorve him there his self. He just sat in the back seat silently glaring out the window. He didn't want to go, or be anywhere near, that damned Yuki. He hated him, they'd been in a seemingly endless battle since they were small children.
He got out of the car and quietly walked himself to class. He sat down in the only empty desk there was. Which happened to be between two girls. Great. The one on his left looked like she was a psychopath. The one on the right though, actually caught all of his attention. She was as abnormally attractive as the other Sohmas. She had blue hair and grey eyes. He was astonished, no one was aloud to dye their hair an unnatural color at this school, it was against the rules. Maybe that was her natural color. But how? She wasn't a Sohma. Who was she? "Hi, I'm Kyo Sohma. What's your name?" He asked the blue-haired girl with immense curiousity.

Kikiyo was ecstatic to see that, in class, Kyo was sitting between her and the one of the Prince Yuki Fanclub members. That 'club' promotes stalking Yuki. Poor guy. She sat down and was getting out her notebook when she heard an intoxicating voice ask her who she was. Was that Yuki's cousin? Kyo? That had asked that? To her of all people?
She looked up and saw him looking at her waiting for an answer. All he asked for was her name. She could answer him without fukcing that up right? Right? "I'm Kikiyo Yoshida. My friends call me Kiki, or Yoshi. Its nice to meet you Kyo." As she spoke she looked into his orage eyes. They enchanted her, they reminded her of fire.

Kyo watched as she looked up at him with a confused gleam in her eyes. She was really pretty, he found himself staring at her. Dammit, stop it! *mentally yelling at self* He just met her and just learned her name mere seconds ago. Kikiyo, it was a beautiful name for a girl. He'd always thought so. Her name also seemed to have convienant nicknames. Kiki, short for Kikiyo, and Yoshi, short for Yoshida. He wishes he had nicknames like that. The only ones he had were: that damn cat, Kyon, Kyo-kun, Kyo-san, and those were normal Japanese nicknames that everyone could have.
"Oh, that's a pretty name. I've heard of your family. They have some kind of connection to mine. I don't know what it is...they won't tell me." He informed her. Wow, why was he telling her all this? Oh, yeah, becoz he thought she had the right to know about their families weird alliance-type thing.

Kikiyo found herself smiling at him when he told her about their families' werid alliance thingy. Is this the family she'd heard talk about. Could his family...including the Yuki...really be cursed with the spirits of the Zodiac, as she and twelve other members of her family were? If they were connected in such a way, what Zodiac animal was Kyo? She wondered if he could possibly be another cat? Wait, what the hell was she thinking? Their families were probably just business partners for some big franchise. What was making her think that they were the ones that were cursed?
So, what now? She was wondering what else they could do. Hang out after school? That would work, her family was wealthy enough that she didn't have to get a job. She had all the free tiem in the world. Why not see if he would want to hang out? Well, here goes nothing. "Hey, umm Kyo, would you wanna hand out after school today?" She asked him ready for the answer of...no. Who knows though, he could surprise her.

Kyo was as confused as she probably was on what exactly their families' were in contact with together. Oh my god, her family might be the other one that is cursed. But, with his luck she isn't and even if she was she'd probably be another damned rat. He hoped not. But why would he tell her if she was cursed or not? She probably didn't even know that there was another family that was cursed with the spirit of the Zodiac. Why did he even care, he wouldn't be able to be in a relationsihp with her even if she was cursed.. *Light bulb goes off in his head* Yes, he would be, coz when you hug a girl in the Zodiac, or vice versa, you don't transform into your spirit animal.
But, what the fuck was he thinking? Like someone that pretty and smart-looking ever want to go out with him? Yeah, right. She probably didn't even think he was cute. Someone that pretty shouldn't think that he is. (yeah, he's kind of hard on himself. he doesn't think he's good enough for anyone.) So, the next question she asked him definitely caught him by surprise. She wanted to know if he'd want to hang out after school today. Hell yeah he would. But he had to remain composed. "Yeah, that'd be great. I'll meet you out on the sidewalk outside the school gate then?" He asked her making the next move...sort of.

Kikiyo was ecstatic that he said yes about hanging out today. She had to answer him now, before the bell rang to leave class. "Okay, I'll see you in other classes, hopefully, and then I'll meet you at the gate." She finished right before the bell rang, as if it was on que. They walked to the door together, she notcied that Arisa, Saki, and Tohru were trailing close behind them, she didn't want to say bye, but she knew that it was only for a little while. "Well, I guess I'll see you later then." She said before she turned to her friends to walk away.
"So, I saw you were talking to the new Sohma boy. What's he like? That orange-head you were talking to all through class?" Arisa questioned Kikiyo as they walked down the hallways to their next class. "Well, he seems kind of awkward when it comes to talking to people, or at least girls. Other than that, he's amazing." She said, realizing that she felt the familiar flutter of butterflies in her stomach. "It seems like our little Kiki has it bad." Tohru chimed in. "What? What do I have?" She asked quickly, coming back down to earth. "Can't you, yourself, tell? You like him." She continued. "And what if I do?" Kikiyo asked defensively. "Well, what would your mom say? You know coz of your little kitty cat condition?" She asked me. Oh shit she hadn't even thought about that. "Well, I don't know if she'd say much." Saki interrupted. "I was picking up nearly the same waves from Kyo as I do from our little Kiki here." She finished, this brught Kikiyo hope. "Do you mean that he might be not only another Zodiac member, but a cat too?" Arisa questioned Saki quickly, showing some excitement in her voice. "That's exactly what I mean." Saki told us. Ohmygod, that'd be incredible.

Kyo hated it when class ended. he could have sat there for hours and just talked to her. She was seemingly outgoing and she was really nice. He means, he was the new kid. This was his first day, and she'd already accepted him. Not to mention, she was beautiful. Like he'd said before, she was as attractive, well actually more so, than any other Sohma he'd ever seen. He'd wanted to ask he out on a date. Not just to hang out. Maybe they'd be more after a little while though. Who knew? Why would she pick him out of every other guy in Japan? He seriously was only good at martial arts. He was extremely socially awkward. He was surprised that he hadn't babbled on and on while he was talking to her in class.
It was too bad that nobody else had befriended him. He could really use someone to talk to right now. It wasn't very often that he wasn't overly angry at everyone, let alone fawning over a girl. There was one person he could talk to, but he refused to. That damned rat, Yuki, didn't need to know what he was thinking and wasn't going to know either. He walked to his next class in silent happiness. For the first time he can remember, he liked a girl who seemed to like him back. At least she wasn't a psychopath like Kagura. *shutters* That'd be terrible. It'd be like the rat's fanclub. A.k.a. his stalked society. If they knew Yuki the way Kyo did, they wouldn't want to stalk him.

Kikiyo thought that the rest of the day went faster than ever. As she walked to her locker to drop off her books, after the dismissal bell rang, she was beginning to get more psyched about seeing Kyo. They had had two other classes together, not including lunch, but she didn't really get a chance to talk to him in their actual classes. It killed her to be so close, yet so far away. She just dropped her books in her locker and grabbed her jacket before she walked towards the main doors of the school. She couldn't wait to walk outside and see Kyo standing there, waiting for her.
As she was walking down the main hallway she was joined by Tohru, Arisa, and Saki. "So, what do you plan on doing with your man after school today?" Arisa joked. "Not my man and I don't know. Maybe go walk around in the woods." Kikiyo answered her not knowing what they'd do. "You can walk through the woods as long as you don't stop at my tent, okay?" Tohru teased me. "I wouldn't dream of it." Kiki teased back. "Just be careful okay? I'm still not sure why his electric waves match yours so closely." Saki warned me. "Okay, Saki, I promise that I'll be careful." Kiki assured her as they neared the front gate. "Well, darling, love to stay. But it looks like Kyo's already waiting for you." Arisa told Kiki with a smile on her face. "Well, I'll see you guys tomorrow." I farewelled them as I made my way over to Kyo.

Kyo was sad when in the actual classes that he shared with Kikiyo that they couldn't really talk. He had lunch with her though, so that was nice. The rest of the day felt like it took forever to him. The day just couldn't have gone fast enough. He was convinced that even if someone had said 'hey dude, it's already one 'o' clock.' he still would have been like 'the day ain't fucking over yet?'. He didn't really become friends with anyone else today. He was too busy thinking about Kiki to try to socialize at all.
When the dismissal bell finally rang, he rushed to his locker to drop off his books and grab his hoodie. Luckily, his locker was close to the main doors. He walked outside and stood to the right of the main gates of the school. He only waited about five minutes for Kikiyo, but it seemed like forever to him. He noticed her and her friends laughing as they approached the gates. he watched as Kikiyo said goodbye to her friends before she walked over to him. "Hey, Kiki, so what should we do today?" He had no idea what to do. He had no idea what a girl liked to do with a guy...that wasn't sexual. Perves. What was there to do around here anyways?

Kikiyo stood next to Kyo. She was sort of content just standing there. She'd felt weird all day. Like something was missing. That feeling went away when she stood next to him. Great, she was falling head over heels for this guy that she just met this morning. What was she thinking though, why would such an amazing guy ever like her, in more than a friendly way? Becoz she was pretty? Or at least so every other guy in town told her. She didn't think she was that pretty. She means, how strange is it to be born and to be born with natural bright blue hair? Why would anyone think that that was pretty in the least?
However, back to earth, there was a question laying on the sidewalk in front of her. What to do? What to do? She had no idea personally. She had one idea, but who would want to go there other than her? She means, what was there to do in the woods? Walk, hike, chillax, and just talk. Would he want to do that or not was the quesiton. Might as well ask, better to ask and know than to not and never. "How bout the woods?" She paused. What could make the woods sound interesting? "Its a really peaceful walk and there isn't any noise from the city." Wow, that made it sound like a girl's dream. Why'd she say that. He was definitely going to say no now.

Kyo could read her eyes and tell that she was thinking about more than just the question he'd asked. She seemed like a very deep individual. The woods sounded great though. He'd do anything that would get him away from that damned Yuki. Plus, he'd get to know Kiki better. So, he didn't really see a down side to going to the woods. "Sure, the woods sounds nice." Kyo answered her. He took her by the hand and led them into the woods. It was the fastest way to the woods that he saw while Shigure was driving him to school this morning.
He realized that this morning in class he'd felt empty. But now, now that he was holding Kiki's hand running through the woods with her, he felt complete. He had known for years that he'd felt empty, but now he felt like that empty hole in his stomach just closed up. He stopped suddenly. He didn't know anything about these woods. She did though, so he should probably ask her. "So, where exactly are we going in the woods?" He asked her, feeling sort of terrible with directions. His animal instinct usually came in handy when he was in unfarmiliar woods. But, he couldn't right now. Why? Could she be another cat? Was he really thinking this right now?

Kikiyo was surprised when he took her by the hand and led the way to the woods, running by the way. She wondered where he thought he was going. He didn't know these woods, he was brand new to town today, is all. Where would she want to go if he thought to ask where in the woods they were going to. She had one place in mind. It was this little secret oasis that her and Saki found one day when they were like seven years old. Arisa was sick that day and Tohru was kind of creeped out by the woods. When he stopped and asked her her eyes lit up.
"Well, I know this one place. You'd never imagine that there'd be something this pretty so close to town." She said keeping their hands intertiwned and leading the way further into the woods and up a hill. Then down the other side, and wa-la. They were on a little path that her and Saki made a few years ago. The weeds and shit got all to annoying. She started to hum a song by We Came As Romans as she led him down the pathway. She realized that holding his hand didn't feel awkward, but instead it felt right. Like he was some missing piece to her that she never knew she was missing.

Kyo was happy when Kiki kept her hand linked together with his own. She led him up a hill and onto a small pathway. It was wide enough for two people, but they were close together becoz of the whole hand situation. He absolutely didn't mind though. "Wow," He thought to himself. "I'm falling head over heels for a girl that I'm probably never going to be able to have." What on earth was he thinking? Falling for her. Why would she ever want him the way that he wants her?
The path seemed to go on forever. As soon as he thought that she veered right taking him with her. Where on earth was she taking him? He couldn't help, but to wonder. She never did let go of his hand. She probably didn't want him to get lost. Like she'd ever like like him. Before he could continue arguing with himself they stopped at this amazing place. There was a waterfall that fel into a deep oasis that was decorated with some white sand around its edges. It looked almost as if it were just painted on a background or something. He didn't believe that it was real until he smelled the familiar smell of fresh water. "Wow, I didn't think anything this amazing could exist right outside of town." Shit, that made it sound like he didn't think that she was amazing, which she definitely was. "I know something that's amazing in or out of town though." He said aloud instead of thinking it like he was supposed to. Stupid non-filtered brain-to-mouth-speech bullshit. Fuck it, if she asked, it was a secret.

Kikiyo notcied that Kyo hadn't said a word the entire way to the oasis. When they got there however, she watched his face light up. He probably hadn't seen much of anything like this. Most kids in Japan hadn't. He said that this was something amazing that he couldn't believe existed right outside of town. Then he'd said that something was amazing in and out of town. Her curiousity was bound to get the better of her. What could he possibly mean by that. The other thing that was amazing out here was him. So what could it be?
"What would that be?" She asked him with the curiousity in her mind ringing out through her voice. It was quite a curious subject. She means, was he flirting? Probably not. Why would he even flirt with someone like her. She was a blue-haird freak as most of her classmates put it. Why would he even want to be associated with her? Maybe becoz he had bright orange hair and felt her pain. Who was she kidding? She loved her hair. She could almost bet that Kyo didn't so much as like like her.
